Mackay girl making splash on TV in X-Factor competition

A MACKAY girl has made a splash on television screens across the country in the lead-up to her audition with hit TV show The X-Factor, which will be televised tomorrow night.

Aaliyah Warren has appeared on Channel 7's advertisements for Sunday night's show after her audition performance stirred up a controversy among judges.

The Mackay teenager, who came second in the Mackay's Got Talent finals earlier this year, auditioned in front of X-Factor judges including Redfoo, Ronan Keating and Dannii Minogue earlier this year.

"There's quite a bit of controversy because it was divided amongst the judges," her excited mother, Ariana Warren, said.

"One liked her and one didn't."

She said Aaliyah's performance brought tears to one of the judges' eyes.

Ms Warren said they didn't know if Aaliyah's performance would be televised, until they saw an advertisement while watching television in their lounge room.

Tune into Channel 7's The X-Factor tomorrow night from 6.30pm to see if Mackay's own talented singer made it through her audition.
