Indie treasure awaits at new store

EMBRACING Ipswich's love affair with all things handmade, new store Cultiver: Indie Arts and Design has opened in the Top of Town.

The Indie arts and design store is packed full of vintage clothing, books and handmade items, and it has an eco-ethical edge, with most products being up-cycled or recycled.

Owners Kyla D'Aubbonnett and Rebecca Lewis have been making goods for a few years, selling them from home and at markets.

“We've been talking about opening a shop-front for a while,” Mrs D'Aubbonnett said. “It has workshop space out the back so we can keep making our wares and will conduct classes too.”

The official launch of Cultiver: Indie Arts and Design is on tomorrow night from 5.30pm, with treats for the kids and live music by jazz band Shoot the Piano Player from 7pm.

The store is located at 2/126 Brisbane Street in Ellenborough House, next to Fourth Child.
