ONE in two Queenslanders will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime - a statistic photographer Sharlee Hunter is passionate about changing.

On Saturday (July 16) at 6pm, Gympie residents will converge on Gunabul Homestead in Power Rd, Southside, for the launch of Sharlee's coffee table book, in support of Cancer Council Queensland.

The event will feature a silent auction, inspirational guest speakers, a three-course dinner by Zesty Edibles, as well as content from the book on display.

Sharlee, a professional portrait photographer located between Gympie and Maryborough, decided to create the coffee table book, which is filled with portraits and stories of people who have been touched by cancer, after she lost her father to lung cancer.

She encourages people to get in quick and purchase tickets to the launch.

"Together we can raise vital awareness and funds for everyone affected by this disease," Sharlee said.

Tickets are $60 per person.
