Guy Sebastian a hit at Splendour in the Grass

FORMER Australian Idol winner and Aussie favourite Guy Sebastian was greeted with thunderous applause from fans when he took to the stage with electronic group Paces at Splendour tonight.

Crossing over into the unknown with Splendour punters, it was far from the pop crooner's typical audience.

Hipsters and festival goers chanted in unison for Sebastian as he tuned up the keyboard in a pre-show soundcheck, before exiting the stage.

Fans went crazy for Paces' uptempo brand of electronica as the man behind the turntable launched into his set,  promising fans "a party for the next hour".

After delivering on his party promise for half his set, Paces welcomed Sebastian on stage as the 2003 Idol winner recreated his Like A Version performance of Keeping Score, which was a surprise hit for Triple J in May.

Donning a leather jacket and a beanie, Sebastian's extensive vocal range was on show in the guest performance that got a packed Tiny Dancer tent jumping.
