Green with gem glee at Gecko Valley Winery

UNIQUE and beautiful gems will be showcased and up for sale at Gecko Valley's Shades of Green gemstone seminar at the end of this month.

More than 100 gems and 40 pieces of jewellery will be shown throughout the three-hour seminar.

Owner Coleen McCray said it was a unique chance to see these stones.

"It's a great opportunity to see some of the world's most famous gemstones," she said.

Natural emerald, green diamond, tsavorite green garnet, green tourmaline, peridot, chrysoberyl and semi-precious gemstones are just some of what will be viewed.

"This seminar has never been done before here," Mrs McCray said.

"I have been thinking of a way to describe it, but it's just 'wow'," she said.

She urged gem-lovers to take advantage of the informative afternoon.

"This seminar will not be repeated because green diamonds and gemstones are so hard to source," Mrs McCray said.

The pieces displayed are all designed and handmade by world-renowned jeweller Miranda Manifold.

Her only permanent display of pieces is at the Gecko Valley Winery.

Gemstone seminar

  • Held on July 28 from 1-4pm.
  • All gems are available for sale over the weekend.
  • Appointments are available for Miranda Manifold to design, remodel or reset pieces of jewellery.
  • RSVP to secure your spot by Friday, June 27, on 4979 0400.
