NSW siblings Steve and Helen were eliminated from My Kitchen Rules tonight, narrowly missing out on a spot in the final four.

THE final four My Kitchen Rules teams were determined tonight after NSW siblings Helen and Steve were eliminated in a sudden-death cook off by Tasmania's Megan and Andy.

From 12 teams, now only four remain. It's a battle between the southern states as Victoria's Carly and Emily, South Australia's Nic and Rocco and Leigh and Jennifer, and Tasmania's Megan and Andy vie for a spot in Tuesday's two-hour finale.

The five remaining teams battled it out tonight in an all-in cook-off.

Their challenge was to showcase the surprise ingredient - citrus fruit - in a dish worthy of being in the finals.

The jury - made up of eliminated contestants - deemed Megan and Andy's citrus cake as the weakest dish and they were sent straight to the elimination cook-off.

They were joined by Helen and Steve after judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel criticised their pork fricassée with egg and lemon sauce for being too dry.

Both teams had to prepare their best signature dish to secure the last spot in the finals.

The Tassie seafood king and queen won convincingly with a score of 50 points for their Jambalaya with mussels, prawns, crabs, pipis, chicken and chorizo.

Helen and Steve fell short with 36 points for their rolled chicken with Greek cheese sauce and spinach rice.

"It's with great sadness we have to say goodbye to you," Evans said.

"You were the first cab off the rank with your instant restaurant and ever since then it's been so much fun getting to know you both."

The Greek-Cypriot home-cook heroes made an emotional farewell.

"Our experience on My Kitchen Rules has been amazing," Helen said.

"We've been sad and happy. It's brought out the best in us."

Steve added: "I'd like to thank my sis for bringing me into this competition. The biggest highlight was cooking for two renowned chefs. We've made my parents, grandparents and fellow Cypriots proud."

The final four teams go head to head tomorrow night in another all-in cook-off.

This last challenge, before finals weeks, will determine who will face off against each other in the all-important semi-finals.

The My Kitchen Rules semi-finals start this Sunday on Seven at 7.30pm, continuing on Monday and culminating in the grand-final on Tuesday.
