Grants mean south west pubs on the mend

TWO heritage-listed businesses in southwest Queensland have received funding for repairs and restoration to their buildingsfrom the State Government.

The Hotel Corones in Charleville and Bullamon Homestead at Thallon were two of 30 businesses that received the funds as part of the Community Sustainability Action Grants Program.

Nearly $40,000 will be spent to repair the roof, walls, doors, windows and veranda boards of the Bullamon Homestead, with another $40,000 used to repair the plaster work inthe entry, foyer, bar, hallway, men's and women'stoilets as well aspainting the repaired plaster work at the Hotel Corones.

Minister for Environment and the Arts Leeanne Enoch said the heritage grant program was community-driven and supported locally based projects that helped to protect culturally significantplaces in communities.
