Grammar looks to put two together

CRICKET: Fresh off the back of their maiden win of the GPS cricket season, Toowoomba Grammar is hoping for similar fortunes on the road.

The TGS First XI will face their first away game when they take on The Southport School, who have made an impressive start to the season, winning two of their three games.

The Gold Coast-based school was able to sneak home by two wickets in their last start outing against Brisbane State High School, backing up a huge nine-wicket defeat of Churchie the week prior.

They won't hold any fears to Toowoomba however, after a well-balanced team effort saw them take down Ipswich Grammar by 60 runs last week.

Captain Matthew Watson produced a stunning 52 while Morgan Galvin chipped in with 30 with the bat, before Harrison Weir's efficiency and Ben Potter's five-wicket haul guided them home.

Play commences at 10am.
