Glee comes from behind to win; Star slots four

GLEE defeated East Lismore 2-1 and Northern Star had a 4-0 win over Ballina in Far North Coast A-grade women's hockey.

Glee were unlucky not to score first with a hard shot by Nic Hetherington hitting the right post.

Easts settled down and after earning consecutive penalty corners, Jade Gray opened the scoring with a direct shot from the top of the circle.

In the second half Glee's Alice Bradford evened it up.

Jennah Hughes scored Glee's second just inside the right upright, eluding the foot of East Lismore goalkeeper Abbey Harvey.

The match was cut short by nine minutes when an ambulance was required for Hughes, who hurt her neck in a collision.

Ballina and Northern Star looked competitive early but Star finished well on top.

They opened the scoring when Nikki Clarke found the back of the net with an angled shot.

Jasmine Ford scored the second goal and Tianna Clarke the third with a deflection.

Kate Marshall capitalised on a well-worked penalty corner to make the final score 4-0.

Tracey Makings had a good game for Star while Ballina's best were Sam Pieti and Billie King-Venn.
