Gladstone, are we going easy on politicians?
QUEENSLAND'S politicians could be spending a large amount of time twiddling their thumbs when they visit Gladstone this month.
Less than 20 people have booked a 15 minute appointment to question the Premier and her 16 ministers during the Community Cabinet Meeting on January 31 - which should take up just five hours.
That's despite the fact that the ministers will be in town for two full days; enough time for 64 appointments.
And there are only 13 days left to book.
Gladstone MP Glenn Butcher said so far the response had "not been very good".
"I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing that people aren't asking for appointments," Mr Butcher said.
"Last time community cabinet was held here, the LNP government was flooded with requests for appointments so perhaps it's a sign our government is doing well."
The last community cabinet meeting held in Gladstone was in August 2013 under Campbell Newman.
The government push to sell land at Calliope earmarked for a new school, the proposed privatisation of Gladstone Port and the Kin Kora roundabout were hot topics.
