READER'S VIEW: Give us the freedom to choose Uber please

WHAT a tragedy that the State Government has come out in favour of the taxi industry instead of the travelling public who clearly want to chose how to get about safely.

Legislation before the house is aimed squarely at putting Uber off the road.

It's not about cost, the fares are modestly cheaper or the same.

It's about freedom of choice.

My daughter will not catch a cab in Brisbane.

Its always an Uber; she feels 100% safe, is never overcharged, can reject drivers based on poor rating, the cars are clean and new, no getting hassled at the taxi rank by drunks, complaints are heard and acted on within 24 hours.

My daughter just wants the freedom to choose.

Bill, tell the team to back off Uber.
