A SWANFELS woman fronted Warwick's Magistrates Court yesterday accused of attempted murder after an incident on Wednesday night.

Coral Suzanne Sharp, 53, was taken into custody when police were called to a Denmark Rd property at Swanfels after reports of a man being shot there.

An application for bail was not made but Ms Sharp's lawyer, Paul Hamilton, said he anticipated there would be an application in the "not too distant future".

Ms Sharp, who sat whimpering in the dock during the brief appearance, was remanded in custody with a committal mention to take place on March 28.

Police will allege the 71-year-old man was shot three times - once in the chest, once in the abdomen and once in the leg - with what was believed to be a small calibre rifle.

He was transported to the Toowoomba Hospital by ambulance and was in a serious but stable condition yesterday afternoon.

It is understood five fire-arms were found at the property several of which were not registered.
