Gavrilova powers into Hong Kong Open final

AUSTRALIAN Daria Gavrilova has stormed into the final of the Hong Kong Open, crushing American Jennifer Brady 6-0 7-5 in their semi-final.

The seventh-seeded Gavrilova will play for the title tonight (6.30pm AEST) against sixth-seeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.

The Russian progressed with a 6-3 6-4 win over China's Wang Qiang.

Gavrilova won her only previous meeting with fellow Russian-born player Pavlyuchenkova 12 months ago in Moscow.

Australia's top-ranked women's player needed just 82 minutes to prevail against Brady, breaking her serve six times.
