Fun CYMS swim meet great way for kids to try sport

CYMS St Edmund's Swimming Club are holding a fun event that is open to non-members and current members aged 4-10 years.

The event is a way to get your kids involved in a swimming club and see if they enjoy the sport.

Current members are free and non-members are $10 per family, which allows you to compete in all races.

The races range from 12.5m to 25m in length.

The fun event is on next Tuesday at St Edmunds Pool (5 Arthur St, Woodend). Registration is at 5.30pm with races starting at 6pm and finishing by 7.15pm.

A free sausage sizzle being provided on the night.

Local Sporting Champions is an Australian Government initiative designed to support young people (12-18 years) participating in state, national and international level sporting championships as an athlete, coach or official. Visit www.sportaus.gov.au

Young Athletes Travel Subsidy is a Queensland Government initiative that provides financial assistance to support attendance at specific state, national and international events. This is open for athletes, coaches, referees and scorers who meet the eligibility criteria. Visit www.qld.gov.au

Ipswich City Council offers a Sport Excellence Bursary program to support local athletes. The bursaries are available to developing athletes in Ipswich who are representing Queensland or Australia at a sporting event. Athletes are eligible for up to $300.
