BABY'S Day Out is an annual event designed to celebrate babies' place in the community and their right to be breastfed anywhere, anytime.

The Australian Breastfeeding Association Ipswich Group will hold their second Baby's Day Out this Sunday at Riverheart Parklands.

Group leader Kellee Ives said the event was created after research showed mothers felt unsure about the rights and wrongs of breastfeeding.

"It was a breastfeeding community initiative and it showed a lot of mums didn't feel confident of breastfeeding in public," Ms Ives said.

"This event is to help normalise breastfeeding in the public arena.

"This is just a normal part of parenting but the event is also about babies' right to be where their parents are.

"It's a family get together where babies are welcome to be with their families and be fed where and when they need to be."

More than 30 people attended last year's event at Queens Park and organisers hope to exceed that number this year.

"We also welcome new mums who would like to join the Ipswich ABA group," Ms Ives said.

The celebration will take place at the Riverheart Parklands children's playground, 20 Bremer St, Ipswich from 9.30am until 12.30pm.
