Frozen event bolsters charity

THE Gympie Civic Centre will be transformed into a frozen wonderland under the artistic genius of Marina Taylor on Saturday, July 12, when Supporting Chemotherapy in Cooloola hosts its fourth biennial gala charity ball.

Frozen in Time is the theme of this year's glamour event, which is strictly black tie and will feature frozen cocktails, a gourmet three-course dinner, entertainment from Brisbane band Trace and an exciting charity main auction and silent auction conducted by Matt Condon.

Among the items up for auction will be four tickets in a VIP suite to a Katy Perry concert in November, stunning jewellery from Mia Bella, art pieces, an air-conditioner and so much more.

Tickets to ball are $100 a head, including a $40 tax deductible donation to SCIC. They can be purchased from Gympie Getaway Travel in Mary St.

SCIC volunteers work tirelessly to raise funds to maintain units where regional patients receiving chemotherapy treatment, and their families, can stay while in Gympie.

Inquiries about the ball can phone Marlene Owen on 0402 286 571 or Alan Forman on 5482 8300.
