IT'S the song that everybody is talking about… this week.

A pair of Norwegian brothers who goes by the name of Ylvis, has made a music video for The Fox that has already attracted over 16 million YouTube views.

The catchy number features a video clip that has people dressed in animal masks in a Scandinavian forest complete with laser beams and smoke machines.

The lyrics are not particularly complicated:

Dog goes woof. Cat goes meow. Bird goes tweet. And mouse goes squeak. Cow goes moo. Frog goes croak. And the elephant goes toot.

But it the next question Ylvis pose that blows minds.

"What does the fox say?"

And according to the duo, the fox says either Gering-ding-ding-ding-ringerdingering; Wa-po-po-po-po-po-pow; Hatee-hatee-hatee-ho; Joff-tchoff-tchoffo-tchoffo-tchoff, or a few other surprising variations.

YouTube user Aystacy said it was the 'stupidest thing' she had ever seen.

"I can't stop watching! I can't stop laughing! Well played Scandanavians, you just might be able to bring world peace," she wrote.

Fellow YouTuber Danielle Nolan said The Fox was better than Gangnam Style.

"And its not lousy, its epic, the most awesome song u will hear in ur life."
