Five cruises you can do without a passport
SEEING our beautiful country from the land is one thing, but seeing it from the ocean is a different ball game.
No only do you only have to unpack once, but your meals are all organised for you, you'll see sites only visible from the water and you can choose to do as little or as much as you like.
We've pulled together five Australian cruises to put on your bucket list.
Brisbane to Fremantle or Fremantle to Brisbane
Be on the lookout for cruises around the top of Australia as occasionally some cruises offer a full domestic itinerary and bypass international ports.
On the Brisbane to Fremantle route, you'll cruise by Airlie Beach, Port Douglas or Cairns, Darwin, Broome, Geraldton and end up in Fremantle.
These cruises usually include Kimberley Coast Scenic cruising.
Cruise Sampler or Short Getaways
Not sure if cruising is for you? Try a Cruise Sampler or Short Getaway Cruise.
Usually lasting two to five days, these all-inclusive cruises are a great way to rekindle a romance, enjoy time with family or friends or simply recharge.
They're great value for money with all meals and accommodation included.
Look out for the one way cruises between Brisbane and Sydney and add a direct flight back to Toowoomba.
Queensland Coastal Cruise
A range of different options are available for Queensland Coastal Cruises departing from Brisbane or Cairns, plus short cruises to Hamilton Island or longer cruises from Brisbane to Cairns, which usually return via Hamilton Island and Willis Island.
Look out for the one way cruises from Cairns to Brisbane via Hamilton Island - perfect to combine with a direct flight from Toowoomba to Cairns.
Tasmania
These cruises usually depart from Sydney or Melbourne, but with direct flights from Toowoomba to both destinations, access is easy.
Cruises to Tasmania can include visits to Port Arthur, Hobart, Wineglass Bay and Burnie, plus Melbourne and Sydney.
Occasionally cruises will also include a visit to Phillip Island.
Look out for the cruises that have two days in Hobart, that way you can further explore this great city and surrounds.
For the best experience try a cruise that departs from Sydney and finishes in Melbourne so you get to see it all.
Fremantle to Sydney or Sydney to Fremantle
There are many variations of this cruise, so opt for a cruise that offers the best experiences and the most port visits. Ports that can be visited may include, Sydney, Hobart, Port Arthur, Burnie, Melbourne, Adelaide, Kangaroo Island, Albany, Margaret River and Fremantle.
Occasionally these may depart or return to Brisbane.
While many cruise companies offer a circumnavigation of Australia most will visit an overseas port so a passport would be required for most of these cruises, but the five you've just heard about are 100% passport-free!
Expert's pick: Fremantle to Brisbane
Stonestreets Domestic Travel Coordinator Darren Truss says, "my dream cruise is Fremantle to Brisbane for the stunning scenery as the cruise ship sails along the Kimberley Coast."
