Five charged over theft of Winnie the mini dachshund

FIVE people have been charged over the theft of a mini dachshund which prompted an appeal from Toowoomba police.

Winnie the mini dachshund was reported stolen on January 8 from a Bright St home in South Toowoomba.

Officers launched an appeal for the community to keep a look out for the loved pup and, after more than a week, have reported she has been found safe and well.

"Through some sleuthing by her owner and some good police work, Winnie was recovered and persons responsible for her theft have been apprehended," police said.
