Fishy Surat vandal

THE holiday vandalism of a newly installed sculpture has the council appealing for help.

The Surat Fisherman Sculpture, on the southern side of town, which was installed in September, was the target for vandals over the Christmas/ new year period when the fish was removed.

The Maranoa Regional Council, which funded the sculpture, said it was a disappointing act of vandalism.

"The sculpture's missing fish can be returned discreetly at any of council's customer service centres or depots,” a spokesperson for the council said.

Any additional information about the fishy act of vandalism can be reported to the council by calling 1300 007 662.
