Final wish granted for Little Theatre legend

IT WAS the final wish of a Stanthorpe Little Theatre legend.

Judith Flitcroft wanted to see the stage become even closer to that of a professional theatre.

After 18 months of quite a bit of research to come up with a method to suit the theatre and be most cost effective, the Stanthorpe Little Theatre has a brand new red velvet curtain.

President Shannon Cox said it gave the theatre a more dramatic feel.

"It was beautiful to make sure it was in for (Judith's) last show she directed - Stanthorpe Guys and Dolls,” she said.

"This will be a benefit for our open mic nights and to allow the actors to feel as though they are operating in a semi-professional theatre.”

The Little Theatre was able to fund this from many different performances held over the last year at a cost of $1000.

"We are very grateful to have the continued support of the community and it is exciting to see these things become a reality,” Mrs Cox said.

"Our next fundraiser is for the foyer extension which we are hoping to achieve by 2021.

"We would love to see more events at the little theatre and welcome involvement from the community.”
