Fifty Shades trilogy proves popular

THEY are flying off Rockhampton shelves everywhere.

The erotic Fifty Shades trilogy has even shown its popularity online.

They have been the biggest-selling books this year on Angus and Robertson's online book store, with the site averaging over 120 copies sold every day since its release.

The series has sold 40 million copies worldwide with book rights having been sold in 37 countries.

The trilogy is about naive young woman Anastasia Steele and sexy billionaire Christian Grey.

But the effect of the popular trilogy hasn't been felt by just bookshops.

Managers of Purely Venus, Bek McKenzie and Allie Morris, said since the book's release more women had felt empowered to bring the pages to life.
