Fate of the Furious trailer is awesome

THE new trailer for The Fate of the Furious has landed with a rogue Vin Diesel and Charlize Theron promising it will be an explosive family reunion.

The Fate of the Furious, the eighth film in the series, shows that Dom Toretto (Diesel) has betrayed his surrogate family. But why?

The crew join forces with old adversaries such as Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw in the face of a common enemy.

Diesel is surrounded by a large cast of familiar faces, including returning characters played by Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Jason Statham, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Kurt Russell. Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren also join in the mayhem.

All the movie's producers have said about the film is the following:

"When a mysterious woman (Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can't seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before."

The Fast and Furious franchise is not to be messed with and has taken $US3.8 billion ($5 billion) at the box office to date.

Universal has committed to at least two more of the films, taking the franchise to a mind-blowing ten installments.

The Fate of the Furious will hit Australian cinemas on Wednesday April 12.
