Fast and furious: Moves save driver from red light crash

ONE WESTERN Australian truck driver has been slapped with both a fine and demerit points after a red light close call.  

In footage released by Western Australian traffic Police, shows the heavy vehicle narrowly miss a Toyota Corolla as it breaks for the red light.   

The display of quick reaction time, and speedy gear changes occurred at the intersection of Roe Highway and Kalamunda Road in High Wycombe.  

It is alleged the 57 year old truck driver was following too closely and took evasive action to avoid a collision.  

He was issued two traffic infringement notices for failing to stop at a red traffic light and failing to keep a safe distance behind vehicles.  

The fine came to $500 and included a loss of five demerit points.
