FAR north Queenslander Angelo Marano

FAR north Queenslander Angelo Marano is one of the friendliest truckies you could ever wish to meet.

Big Rigs saw Angelo on December 19 as he was parked at the Nine Mile Roadhouse which is on the top of the winding Rex Range at rural Julatten.

Angelo works for the family company Marano Fuel and Oils and was beside a 2007 model Western Star Constellation 4800.

"We carry fuel all around north Queensland for service stations, farms, trawlers and properties," he said.

"My grandfather started the company 70 years ago."

Angelo lives at Miallo near Mossman and said the company had 12 trucks driving as far away as Cape York, Normanton, Georgetown and Townsville.

Back in 2007 Big Rigs yarned to Angelo at the Bohle Little Acre Roadhouse north of Townsville when he was behind the wheel of a Volvo.

Angelo's has one main New Year's Resolution or wish. "I want to find a nice lady to settle down with," he said.

The next day your Big Rigs correspondent was in Cairns interviewing a truckie when a Marano truck drove past carting fuel.
