OPINION: Fantastic football for a great price

WHAT a fantastic opportunity it is for Hervey Bay to score an Intrust Super Cup game.

There's no doubt among the Falcons and Ipswich Jets players there will be future NRL stars.

Some of them already have the skills necessary to go up against the Greg Inglis' of the sporting world, it's just a matter of time.

That's why it's important we as a community show our support for the big events to come here, it means more money for local business and it means a bigger chance of repeat events.

You know an event is worth hosting when it has the potential to inject $1 million into the economy in just one weekend.

What I'm mainly excited for is witnessing the fantastic football that the Ipswich Jets play.

If you watched their game against the Newcastle Knights in the NRL State Championship final in October 2015, you will know what I'm talking about.

Their style of football is innovative adaptable and most of all it is entertaining to watch.

No wonder NRL teams scrambled to raid their roster.

You know you have a win-win situation on your hands when you can see some of the highest grade quality rugby league while supporting your local economy for the price of just two cups of coffee.

See you there on April 23.
