Family day marks fifth anniversary

THIS month Brown and Hurley Yatala will open its gates to families, the young and old, and truckies to celebrate its fifth anniversary at the Burnside Rd location.

But rather than just a celebration for Brown and Hurley it's the public that will be the winners.

On the day there will be a massive pallet sale, with everything you can think of available out on pallets in the car park carrying hugely discounted prices.

When Big Rigs caught up with parts manager Matt Melgaard he said it would be a day to remember.

"There will unbelievable specials on loads of take off components, available for both old and new customers to snap up," he said.

"Not only will there be some great buys on the pallets outside, but there will also be 10% off all showroom prices on the day."

But it won't be your average pallet sale.

On the day there will also be some fun activities for the kids, which include a jumping castle, face painting and Koko the balloon twister.

The crew from the Hot Tomato radio station will broadcast on site and a live band will perform, making it a family occasion.

Brown and Hurley dealer principal Paul Hurley said the day was more than just a pallet sale.

"We are making it a family outing," he said.

"The pallet sale this year will also include a truck show of Brown and Hurley's clients who have purchased Kenworths and DAFs from them over the past few years."

There are a number of categories, prizes and trophies up for grabs on the day.

This is the first time that Brown and Hurley Yatala will hold a truck show in conjunction with their annual pallet sale.

Anyone who purchased a new Kenworth or DAF from Brown and Hurley Yatala in the past five years is welcome to bring their truck to the show.

There will be prizes for best Kenworth K, T3, T4, T6 and T9 series and best DAF LF, CF and XF series, as well as a people's choice award.

The pallet sale and fifth Anniversary Truck Show Day will be held on April 20 from 8am to 1pm. The truck show winners will be announced at noon.

Truck Show and pallet sale organiser Megan Brunner said everyone who entered their truck into the show would get a $50 parts voucher to spend on the day and a t-shirt.

She said it was free entry but the competition was only open to Kenworth and DAFs that were purchased from Brown and Hurley Yatala in the past five years.

So come on down.

Land yourself a bargain, even if you don't need one.

You may buy a new toy from one of the truck sales team that will also be on hand.
