Families relax as Easter ends
FISHING, camping, relaxing and eating are the things people love most over the Easter long weekend.
The Gibbards family chose Terranora Creek to finish up "a perfect weekend."
Sharon Gibbards said she chose the spot because it was quiet and beautiful.
"I'm from Brisbane, so it's a way of getting out of the city without travelling too far."
Ellyse Gibbards chose to read a book by the creek.
"I usually hang out at the beach, so this is a nice change," she said.
"I've also fitted a couple of movies in."
Brandon and Wayne Gibbards chose the spot because it's "out of the wind."
"We've done some surfing and now it's time to relax with some fishing," they said.
The family comes to Tweed Heads twice a year.
Snorkellers James and Zesing Yin from Adelaide and the Gold Coast picked the spot for fishing.
"We usually catch something and it's a pretty spot," they said.
Roxanne Reid from Brisbane enjoys fishing at the creek.
"I had to work all weekend, so I'm very happy to get a sunny day to fish," she said.
"We haven't seen much sun this year, so it's great."
Fisher Neil Urwin said he looked at four places for a holiday.
"Tweed Heads took the cake," he said.
"I love the tranquillity of the river."
Shaun Robinson brought his three daughters to Tweed Heads from Brisbane.
"It's good to get away from the rat race," he said.
"You can't do better than finding a nice shady spot by the water and maybe catch some dinner."
Jorjah Robinson caught her first fish.
"I really wanted to catch a fish for dinner, so I'm very happy," she said.
