Exclusive look at music video

PUNTERS at the Ivey and Byron Short double album launch at Glenmore Tavern on Saturday will be treated to an exclusive worldwide music video premiere for Ivey's song 'Circle'.

CQUniversity graduates Madelyn Holmes and Briana Ives have been working together since the start of the year on the music video.

The video was shot across four days during February at various locations around South-East Queensland, Briana explained.

"We are lucky to live in such a beautiful country. It was important to me that we showcase stunning scenery around Queensland so we found some of the best spots and filmed over four days,” she said.

"The concept for the video closely follows the storyline of the song which was written about two star crossed lovers who keep meeting by chance.

"There are some notable landmarks throughout the video including the Glasshouse Mountains, Queen Mary Falls, Allora's sunflower fields and Brisbane's Mt Coot-tha.”

The dynamic duo first met at CQUniversity through mutual friends and have since worked on a variety of creative projects together including photoshoots, Ivey's EP artwork and a couple of music videos.

"If there is anything I have learned from working with her is that she doesn't do things by halves,” Madelyn said.

"Over the years we've carried a piano into a field, set up a lounge room on a salt pan and in the making of the Circle music video we travelled over 1000 kilometres filming in different locations.

"Working well together is critical for the success of any project and luckily our creative thinking is the same - all or nothing.”

Rockhampton-grown actor, Stephanie Kutty plays one of the star crossed lovers alongside her off screen love interest, Paris Moletti.

"This was the first time Paris and I got to play romantic lovers; we've been lovers who fight, burglars, even Mexican gangsters but never romantic,” Stephanie said.

"Working with directors who have a clear vision makes it more fun. Bri and Maddy knew exactly what they wanted from each scene and gave such easy directions to follow.

"Every day was something new and we were happy to be a part of the adventure. It's also exciting that my hometown will be the first to see it.”

Ivey will be launching her debut EP 'Under the Rug' and the 'Circle' music video on Saturday from 8pm at the Glenmore Tavern.

Joining her on their 'Revelations' album launch tour is Byron Short and the Sunset Junkies.
