ELLEN Reed just spent her first night at home after her near-perfect finish on The Voice Australia.

The Caboolture singer flew home yesterday evening with her family after appearing in the live grand final of Channel 9's reality singing show.

The 28-year-old finished behind Delta Goodrem's winner Alfie Arcuri and runner-up Adam Ladell.

"I'm so excited I get to sleep in my own bed tonight," Ms Reed told the Daily yesterday.

"I've been in Sydney for about seven weeks now. It simultaneously feels like the shortest and longest experience of my life."

Ms Reed will continue to receive advice from her chart-topping mentor Jessie J, who was on a flight to New York just hours after The Voice grand final to promote her new movie Ice Age: Collision Course.

"After the show we spoke about what's coming next for her and what I need to be aiming towards," she said.

"I had a few question about where do I go next, as in what's the next best move. She is insanely busy but she's only ever a phone call away.

"I hope that we can work together very soon. She's starting on her new album, so you never know."

Ms Reed plans to re-release the original songs on her debut, self-titled EP and work on new material over the next few months.

"This is the exciting part for me now and I've got a whole list of goals I want to achieve," she said.

"I definitely want to re-record some of my music and make sure it's up and ready to release when I'm allowed to.

"I also plan to get straight back into gigs. I've had quite a lot of offers."

She also plans to collaborate with fellow Voice contestants Kim Sheehy and Mikaela Dean.

"We've already had a bit of a chat about what we can do," she said.

"They are trying to convince me to move down to Sydney to do gigs with them down there. I'm sure the three of us will collaborate on something soon."

A peak national audience of 1.909 million viewers tuned in to Sunday's grand final show to see Sydney architect Arcuri crowned the show's fifth annual winner.
