Elderly man in critical condition after fall down cliff

UPDATE: An elderly man is fighting for life after falling about 6m at a Crows Nest property this morning.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the man, aged in his 70s, was airlifted to Brisbane in a critical condition.

He had suffered serious head and chest injuries in the incident on private property about 9.55am.

The man was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Emergency services were called to the scene with reports the man had fallen about 6m off a cliff.

EARLIER, 10.30AM: EmergencyY services are working to rescue an elderly man who fell from a cliff north of Toowoomba this morning.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services' technical rescue crews are en route to the incident off Church St in Crows Nest.

Initial reports suggest a man, aged in his 70s, fell about 6m down a cliff onto rocks.

One QFES crew is at the scene with a second en route to the incident where they will plan the rescue mission.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said paramedics were at the scene and are assessing the patient.

The incident was reported about 9.55am.
