Eating a hot cross bun could get you charged

ACCORDING to one truckie, "hell will freeze over” before she stops eating hot cross buns.

Why, you wonder?

Well, a video posted to the Pilbara Heavy Haulage Girls Facebook page shows co-founder Heather Jones use a breathalyser to demonstrate how one bite of a hot cross bun can apparently impact your blood alcohol level.

"Hell will freeze over before two things happen,” Kym Colman said.

"One - I get charged with drink driving caused by a hot cross bun, and two, I stop eating hot cross buns because some bastard thinks you can get charged for it. On a side note, f*** to the no eating while driving law.”

Ken Worth said the point was not so much that you get a reading.

"It's the fact that if you do get a positive then no doubt a follow up test will reveal the problem. It's the wasted time and simply this information isn't known.”

Wade Cattley said the television show Mythbusters tackled the topic.

"If you eat poppyseed rolls or muffins, it's possible to return a positive urine test for opiods,” he said.
