Show cattle killed in Gore Hwy rollover

UPDATE: Cattle bound for the Toogoolawah Show have been killed in a truck rollover on the Gore Hwy.

Millmerran police officer Senior Constable Hans van Kempen said he had to shoot six or seven of the beasts that were injured in the crash about 10km south of Millmerran.

He said a husband and wife were taking the cattle from their Kinden property to the show when the crash occurred.
The couple were taken to Millmerran Hospital for treatment.

Snr Const. van Kempen said some cattle were killed on impact while others were unharmed.

The highway was reduced to one lane at the site, with temporary complete closures while the prime mover and trailer were righted.
