Driver 'five times over, driving wrong way down Bruce Hwy'

A MAN has been charged after allegedly driving five times the legal limit down the wrong side of the Bruce Hwy before crashing head-on into another vehicle.

About 10.40pm on October 3, the man's Landcruiser was sighted travelling south in the northbound lanes of the highway at Caloundra.

Police units attempted to intercept the vehicle, but it crashed head-on with a truck travelling north.

The crash saw major damage to both vehicles, however both drivers suffered only minor injuries and were transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
