Downs contestant wins captaincy for second time
RUGBY LEAGUE: Western Downs talent Elias Power assured his own safety in an otherwise lacklustre week for contestants on NRL reality television program The Rookie.
For the second week in a row, Power won the captaincy and immunity from elimination by taking out the tough captain’s challenge, named power and pain.
The Rookie’s then played a game against a team representing the Men of League Foundation which was made up of former NRL players like Andrew Ryan, Michael Buettner and Mark O’Meley.
The Men of League team won the game played in the wet with the performance by The Rookie contestants so insipid that head coach Brad Fittler cut one player straight after the game.
Another player was eliminated at the end of the episode but Power was safe due to his captaincy win.
The current Condamine Cods Risdon Cup rugby union player will chase the captaincy for a third week in a row during the next episode which will air on Go on Tuesday night at 7.30pm.
