Don't break core promise from election
THE election results are almost finalised, and Labor is looking likely to retain government following a wise decision by Anastasia Palaszczuk to veto the $1 billion loan to Adani.
This is a core promise from the 2015 election, re-iterated this election, and it must not be broken.
While Labor has good policies for our future such as limits on tree clearing and renewable energy targets, Queenslanders would not have been able to vote for Labor until they promised to veto the loan.
This was a decider as evidenced in both pre-and post election polling.

Should Adani be given any concessions for their Carmichael mine project?
This poll ended on 07 December 2017.
Current Results
No. They should have to pay their own way like everyone else.
76%
Yes, this project is vital to regional towns and Queensland.
11%
Loans should be allowed, but not handouts or tax breaks.

This is not a scientific poll. The results reflect only the opinions of those who chose to participate.
However, Labor continues to offer subsidies to Adani through a $350 million royalties holiday, a $100 million roads upgrade, and most importantly, through free and unlimited access to our Great Artesian Basin water.
This water licence should never have been considered for a destructive coal project.
These subsidies are offered in spite of the promise to "not give one cent of taxpayers money to Adani".
If Anastasia Palaszczuk is serious about her own integrity, and that of a re- elected Labor government, then she must immediately and publicly write to the Prime Minister to veto the loan and withdraw the other subsidies in line with her election commitments.
Ms Palaszczuk must withdraw the Adani water licence.
