Queensland Weekender will be discovering our Nanango
AFTER a visit from the lifestyle program Queensland Weekender, the attractions of Nanango are set to be promoted across the state.
TV presenter Liz Cantor visited Nanango with film crew in tow this week to explore the beauty of the town.
Nanango's Jane Erkens was lucky enough to host the crew and show them what the area has to offer visitors.
"I think they were really impressed with the town and the friendliness of the people," she said.
Ms Erkens said the program's visit also gave the locals a bit of a thrill.
"Liz borrowed one of the band member's guitars so she could have a play along and when she gave it back, he promised never to wash it again," she said.
"Well Liz certainly laughed, she thought that was hilarious."
Ms Erkens said there was a lot of ground to cover on the crew's visit, but the town murals really captured their attention.
"There are a lot of murals in town that actually depict aspects of Nanango's history," she said.
"There's one of an old car and a trailer with a couple of people with their suitcases.
"They were really impressed by that."
Jane said Queensland Weekender's visit was a fantastic opportunity to help promote "a great place to live and visit".
"It will help draw the attention of travellers to what a great little place it is to stop and have a look around," she said.
"We have a lot to offer, museums, murals, Ringsfield House, and nice little caravan parks."
Queensland Weekender's Liz Cantor said Nanango had a lot to see and the crew was hard pushed to fit it all in.
However Ms Cantor said the locals were at the heart of Nanango's spirit.
"Everyone's been so welcoming," she said.
"It's been an absolute pleasure to be here with the crew."
Stay tuned for the episode's air date.
