Dedication's the key to truck show victory
SO WHAT'S the secret to winning Rig of the Show?
For Kempsey truckie Cody Wood, it's dedication.
"Dedication is all it takes,” he said.
"You've just got to keep on it and people know how you look after your gear.”
Cody, with his shiny Western Star 4900, won the Rig of the Show at last year's Casino Truck Show.
As for why his rig was named the winner, Cody said: "It looked good, a few people said they liked how it looked”.
He said he's been to a few truck shows and won a few awards but the Casino Truck Show was the biggest award he'd won.
Punters will be able to see Cody's rig up close for themselves this year, as he will be at the front of the 2018 North Coast Petroleum Casino Truck Show, which will be held on Saturday, August 4.
The NSW town will be full of trucks of all shapes and sizes, providing some of the best entertainment for families on the north coast.
There will be plenty of blinged-up trucks from across Australia in the CBD for the truck parade from 10am through Johnston St and Centre St.
There will also be live music from Occarock, face painters, food stalls, markets and amusement rides.
This year event organisers are excited to welcome ShowTime FMX, who will perform three shows on the day at 11.30am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
ShowTime FMX specialises in thrilling stunt shows featuring professional freestyle motocross riders and stunt performers.
With 19 years of experience performing at some of the biggest events in Australia, the stunt show will be one not to miss.
Casino Truck Show president Stuart George said organisers had been overwhelmed by the response to the event in past years.
"Visitors and families travel from across the state and with the free entry, it makes Casino the place to be on the first weekend of August,” Mr George said.
So, make sure you save the date and head along for a great day of family fun.
Catch up with friends and trucker colleagues, park your flash trucks and enjoy a fun day out at the Casino Truck Show.
