Dashcam footage shows dangers of Kuranda Range

ALARMING vision of a B-double veering into the oncoming lane on the Kuranda Range Rd makes clear why the notorious section of road is one of the most dangerous sections of highway in the Far North.

On Friday afternoon the B-double was captured cutting blind corners and forcing cars to take evasive action as it made its way up the range.

Atherton Tablelands resident Jamie Clarke captured the footage when returning home from Cairns Airport.

Following behind the truck Mr Clarke said his heart was in his mouth the whole way up the range.

"In defence of him though he many not know (about the twisting road)," he said.

Mr Clarke said there was no signs at the bottom of the range indicating to drivers of heavy vehicles the winding nature of the road or if B-doubles were permitted to travel the route from Smithfield to Kuranda.
