DARREN Tisher

DARREN Tisher drives a late model Isuzu as a volunteer for the Rupertswood Rural Fire Brigade in North Queensland.

The 31-year-old Darren has been with the brigade for four years and is among 30 such volunteers.

"The fire season is now here so the Isuzu will be on call. Last season we went as far as Barcaldine," he said.

The bright coloured Isuzu was on show at the Upper Ross Community Expo in Townsville on May 12 which was attended by thousands of men, women and children.

It was a big attraction for kids who were allowed to sit in the driver's seat as Darren and fellow brigade members told them all about it.

"It is a very good vehicle truck which is well suited for what we do," he said. In his normal job, Darren works for QR National.
