A FACE familiar to many on the Rockhampton party scene made a big impression on the opening night of Channel 9's new season of Australia's Got Talent.

Tommy Franklin is the dancing man who has proved a hit in Rockhampton at The Heritage Hotel.

On Sunday, Tommy impressed the television show's judges, particularly British comedian Dawn French with his unique approach as he advanced to the next round.

Tommy is from Byron Bay, but is a regular visitor to Central Queensland.
