Dance Moms choreographer to host classes in Toowoomba
DANIEL Jaber is an international dancer who famously appeared on Dance Moms as a guest choreographer.
Mr Jaber is nationally and internationally known for both his choreography teaching and performing, having been a member of many dance companies.
Now, he is coming to Toowoomba for one day to host masterclasses.
On Sunday, November 12 he will host classes at the PCYC dance studio.
Mr Jaber has trained at the Queensland University of Technology, Queensland Ballet Company and Adelaide College of the Arts.
His career as a professional dancer began with Garry Stewart's Australian Dance Theatre at the age of 17 in 2003.
He has gone on to perform and choreograph performances around the world, and is based in Los Angeles.
Mr Jaber appeared on season six and seven of America's reality television series Dance Moms choreographing Kendall and Kalani's Push and Pull duet and the group's The Bow dance.
Toowoomba's National Conservatoire Ballet Company founder and director Sarah Brown said it was exciting to have Mr Jaber in town.
"We are really lucky to be able to have Mr Jaber host classes in Toowoomba because he generally teaches at an elite level and works with those who are full-time dancers," she said.
"I took advantage of one of those rare moments when he is set to be back in Australia so I made a few calls and he was more than happy to come visit us.
"Everyone who has found out about it so far is really excited so I think tickets will sell fast.
"We only have about 40 spots in the two classes but if there is a strong demand we will look at holding another class."
Junior dancers, eight years and over, can register for a one-hour class from 11am, and senior dancers, aged 12 years and over, can attend a three-hour ballet, contemporary and choreography class from 12pm.
Cost for juniors is $30 and cost for seniors is $60.
