Dami Im through to Eurovision grand final

DAMI Im is through to Sunday's Eurovision grand final after impressing the European song contest's delegates and millions of viewers.

Unlike last year's Australian representative Guy Sebastian, who got a pass straight through to the big night, Im had to compete with 17 other singers for one of 10 grand final berths this morning.

Despite the early start, SBS's broadcast of the second Eurovision semi-final is the top trending topic on Twitter.

Eurovision delegates and viewers can't vote for their home country and voting lines were open for just 10 minutes.

The other countries from the second semi-final through to the grand final are Latvia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Serbia, Poland, Israel, Lithuania and Belgium.

Online bookmaker SportsBet now has Im at $5 odds to win the competition, tipping her to finish second behind Russia.
