Ewen Maddock Dam users get extra parking
PADDLE-craft enthusiasts who use one of the Sunshine Coast's most popular dams have new trailer parking.
Energy and Water Supply Minister Mark McArdle said the extra parking at Ewen Maddock Dam was one outcome from an extensive review of the south-east Queensland's dams and catchments.
"The dam is a popular destination for paddle-craft users, and community feedback during the review highlighted the need for extra trailer parking," Mr McArdle said.
"To address this, Seqwater has changed the main car park.
"The bus parking area has also been improved."
Seqwater acting chief executive Peter Dennis said community feedback was a critical part of the ongoing recreation review.
"Recreation activities at Ewen Maddock Dam and Lake Baroon were reviewed together, with high community interest in these lakes," Mr Dennis said.
"As a result of feedback, the car park area now has dedicated places for four to five cars with trailers (depending on size) in addition to the existing parking available to cars and horse floats."
