Cyclone Marcia cancels all remaining flights to Mackay

ALL remaining flights to Mackay this evening have been cancelled due to Cyclone Marcia, but flights are still scheduled for tomorrow.

Mr Porter said decisions could be made quickly so people should check the website before leaving to catch a flight.

"Firstly, check with your airline for updates," Mr Porter said.

"Our Facebook page (Mackay Airport) will update information when it comes to hand."

4.30PM:

WITH Cyclone Marcia tracking toward the coast Mackay Airport manager Rob Porter reminds residents to check with their airline for updates.

Mr Porter said there had been one cancellation but major delays were not expected.

"Firstly, check with your airline for updates," he said. "Our Facebook page (Mackay Airport) will update information when it comes to hand."

The cancelled departing flight was a Virgin Australia service to Brisbane, scheduled for 4.55pm.

Cyclone Marcia is currently a category 3 cyclone and could intensify to a category four by landfall.
