COMMERCIAL Vehicle Industry Association of Queensland (CVIAQ) hosted its annual golf day at the Gailes Golf Club on Tuesday, May 1.
Seventy members and their guests in 17 teams registered their participation to play the four ball ambrose competition.
CVIAQ Team 1 headed up by CVIAQ CEO, Brett Wright, won the day with a combined score of 57.5. Mr Wright said:
"It has taken six golf days to get the gong so it has been a long time coming."
CVIAQ Team 1 comprised Ian Gidlow (Worklaw Health & Safety Pty Ltd), Fred Hackworth (BCEC), Brett and his father Owen.
CVIAQ Team 2 led by CVIAQ's Noelene Bradley and Brisbane Truck Show sponsor, Bank of Queensland, came in third.
CVIAQ thanked major sponsors Western Star Trucks for their continued support of the industry event and their generosity in assisting to create a memorable golfing experience for the members and their guests.
Appreciation was also given to the hole sponsors and participating companies who donated corporate merchandise to be packaged up as prizes for the day. These were: Western Star Trucks Australia Pty Ltd, Trader Business Media, Jost Australia, Lusty EMS, TMC Australia, Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles, TORGAS Inc., National Transport Insurance, Isuzu Australia Pty Ltd, BPW Transpec Pty Ltd, The Brown & Hurley Group Pty Ltd, Groeneveld Australia Pty Ltd, Volvo Group Australia Pty Ltd, MTU Detroit Diesel Australia and Gailes Golf Club.
Winners on the day, and their combined scores, were: 1st CVIAQ Team 1 (57.5); 2nd BPW Transpec (58.5); 3rd CVIAQ Team 2 (59.375); 4th Volvo Group Australia (60); 5th Jost Australia (60.25); 6th Western Star Trucks (64.12), 7th Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles (64.375).
