Horse racing: There was plenty of colour and action on track in Cunnamulla on Saturday, as punters flocked to the racecourse for an action-packed five race card.

Cunnamulla and District Diggers Race Club secretary Liz Land said she was proud to see patrons supporting the club's idea of wearing pink to raise money for breast cancer.

"It was a terrific day and everyone got in the pink spirit, even the the men wore pink,” Land said.

"Everyone made the effort to make sure they wore pink in light of Pink Week starting to raise awareness of breast cancer.”

Land added the crowd was a good mixture of punters looking to get one up over the bookies and women letting their hair down.

"We have always held a ladies day at this races and all the ladies got in free for the occasion.

"We roughly had about 120-150 people through the gate which was really great, because we usually only get about 70 people.

"There were a lot of travellers and visitors as well. There was a bit of a cool breeze on the weekend, but everyone rugged up and still had a great day.”

There was also a Fashions on the Field competition, with many men and women dressing to the nines for the event.

Organiser Kirsty Schmidt said it was great to see a high level of involvement.

"I was really impressed with everyone, especially all the men wearing pink,” Schmidt said.

"Everyone made an effort to wear pink which was good.”

The categories of the event included best dressed man, woman, boy and girl, with the job of picking a winner a tough gig.

"It was really hard to pick the winner in the women's and children's category,” Schmidt said.

"The men wasn't too hard though because Greg Ticehurst wore a full pink suit, so he was the clear winner.”

On the track Written Guarantee ($4) saluted in the first event, beating home I'm Sassy ($2.80) and Unaccompanied ($5).

Four-year-old mare Relnino ($3.60) stormed home in the second race for her second career win, with Renewing Hope ($6) and Bernie's Desert ($10) rounding out the placings.

Denman Dreaming ($4.20) proved to be a class above in the third, with the five-year-old mare getting the biscuits for trainer Edward Jonson.

Race four saw the punters struggling to decide between three hot chances, with one of them, Polar Blitz ($2.80), getting the business done.

Warrior of Peace ($2.40) won the final race.
