Cowboys fan on the search for his soul-mate

FIFTY-SIX year old Ray Wegner loves his football and music, but now he wants to find the love of his life.

He is arguably the Cowboys biggest fan, and said he enjoys pumping the odd Jimmy Barnes album at home; he's hoping to find a partner who will share these interests too.

"I love football, going for walks and to the movies, fishing, gardening, BBQ's, bands and going out to dinner,” he said.

"I'm looking for a nice lady to accompany me and have a fun relationship, I want to share the life I live with someone special.

"I'm outgoing, caring, fun and have a great sense of humour, and while I am in a wheelchair, it doesn't stop me from doing anything I am determined to do, I would do anything for love.”

Ray was born with cerebral palsy but has grown to live happily with his disability, he said it doesn't stop him from living a normal life and has even begun writing a book to tell people about his story.

"In my book I write about the fact that I designed this house I live in about 22 years ago,” he said.

"I submitted it to public housing and have been here since, before that I was in Townsville.

"I have been married before but unfortunately it didn't work out, I've been single for ages now and want to find love again.”

Ray's ideal lady would be someone around his age or even a bit younger, who is outgoing and easygoing.

"I've been looking around for a while now,” he said.

"I started wanting a companion more after my dad passed away, I looked after him for a while and he wasn't well, when he passed a few years ago I became more lonely and decided it was time to find a partner.

"There are a lot of people out there and I'm sure someone that has interests like I do.”

Ray said he has also started looking for work again and was well-known in Mackay for his previous job as a courier.
