Council to get back to business on Friday

IPSWICH City Council will swear in the city's representatives ahead of its post-election meeting on Friday.

Mayor Paul Pisasale said with the mayoralty and all councillor positions declared it was time to get on with the job.

The 10 divisional councillors and mayor will be sworn in at 8.45am, with the meeting to commence 9am.

"This important meeting will set the framework for all standing committees, councillor representation and responsibilities," Cr Pisasale said.

"With three new councillors there is a strong feeling of renewed energy and enthusiasm in the entire team."

Cr Pisasale said the new committee structure would be revealed at the post-election meeting.
