Boy, 10, spends day in the life of a copper
A 10-YEAR-OLD Gladstone lad wants to be a police officer when he grows up.
And he spent a fair bit of time in the school holidays finding out as much as he could about his dream job.
Gladstone police officers were more than happy to hang out in the day room of Gladstone Police Station with Jaiden Cruz when he popped in for a visit over the weekend.
It's been Jaiden's dream to be a police officer since he was two years old. So Gladstone Police were more than happy to show him around and give a taste of the job.

While he was visiting the station, Jaiden told officers it had been his dream to be a police officer since he was two years old.
Jaiden said his main reason was that he wants to be able to help people.
Jaiden told his hosts that he would like to start as a general duties police officer and then when he became a sergeant one day, his goal was to become a tactical police officer.
So interested in his chosen career, Jaiden visited the Oxford Police Academy during the Christmas holidays and while he was there he got a junior police officer uniform.
He first visited Gladstone Police Station two years ago, and since then he has been to the Maroochydore, Agnes Water and and Maleny police stations.
